South Asia
Pray for an elderly man named Lalu who was recently rescued from 20 years of bondage at an isolated farm. He had endured constant violence from the farm owner and was cut off from the outside world, unable to see or speak to his family for two decades. IJM’s local partner found Lalu in late May and helped authorities rescue him. Today, he’s recovering at home with his grandchildren. Please pray for his ongoing recovery and justice in his case.
Africa & Europe
We praise God for justice in the case of Pearl*, a young girl in Uganda, whose abuser was sentenced to 30 years in prison after a courageous legal process. We’re grateful for the trauma-informed care she received from IJM’s legal and aftercare teams, who stood by her in court, helped her feel safe and ensured the case moved forward when it had stalled. Please pray for Pearl as she continues therapy, that she would feel secure in her home, supported by her family and free to enjoy the simple joys of childhood again.
Latin America
We thank God for the opportunity to partner with the Peruvian National Police on a groundbreaking training course designed to transform how officers respond to violence against women. With the course nearly complete, we’re praying it will be approved and implemented across six regions — equipping 400 officers with tools for trauma-informed care, human rights and justice-centered investigations. Please pray that God would open doors, move hearts and use this effort to bring lasting protection and dignity to women and families across Peru.
Asia Pacific
Praise God for the launch of IJM’s VIDI Orientation Video in the Philippines, a powerful new tool designed to protect child survivors of online sexual exploitation by equipping caseworkers with survivor-centered, trauma-informed practices. This resource is already helping prosecutors, law enforcement and social workers understand how to use Videotaped In-Depth Disclosure Interviews (VIDIs) to reduce retraumatization and strengthen legal outcomes. Please pray that this training would be widely adopted and that it would lead to safer and more compassionate justice processes.
