It’s on us to show up for our communities in times of need.

Hey team,

At Fair Fight Action, we know firsthand what it looks like when Southern communities are left to fend for themselves. We’ve seen it time and again — the systems meant to protect us fail in the moments we need them the most.

Right now, we’re seeing this play out in Central Texas, where deadly flash flooding devastated communities across the region.

Families torn apart. Mobile homes and trailer parks swept away and destroyed. Entire communities are being displaced with no plan or ability to move forward.

That’s where we come in: Fair Fight Action is proud to be raising money for Rebuild.US, an organization of leaders who have lived through a catastrophic climate disaster or love someone who has. Their team consists of disaster response professionals, rapid response fundraisers to get money to where it’s needed most, local experts tied to the most impacted communities along with fiscal oversight experts dedicated to building a new disaster relief system ready to meet the climate reality of 2025 and beyond.

As a Fair Fight Action supporter, you know that true justice means showing up and fighting for the South — especially when systems fail. Your support for families in Texas is critical in helping to get resources and long-term support for families impacted. Donate now and 100% of your gift will go towards helping those in Texas >>

In the aftermath of these floods, the devastating impact on year-round residents living alongside the Guadalupe River has been largely overlooked. Many of these families are working-class folks, and right nearby, an entire trailer park community was wiped out while families were still inside. Today, a place that was once a community with roots is nothing but an empty lot.

Texas has a troubling history of responding to climate tragedies in inequitable ways. But this time, it’s even worse, given the massive cuts to federal disaster relief systems.

We are the ones who keep each other safe in times of need — not the systems that continuously let us down and marginalize the most vulnerable among us.

It’s on us to come together and help ease the recovery process for those impacted. If you’re able, please make a donation to Rebuild.US and fuel their crisis response and long-term recovery efforts >>
