A supporter recently said something that really stuck with me. “You know,” he said, “I think you might just be the next Doug Jones.”

It’s common knowledge what Doug Jones accomplished and overcame in Alabama, but what I don’t think most people realize is how he did it. Living in Florida’s panhandle, we’re right next door to Alabama, so we received quite a bit of exposure to Jones’s campaign.

From day one, Jones spoke about the importance of putting country before party, leading with integrity, and being on the right side of history.

That’s how we are going to win in November — by sticking to these tenants no matter how low Matt Gaetz sinks.

Like Roy Moore, shameful misdeeds, outright dishonesty and lack of integrity will be Gaetz’s downfall, as Republicans, moderates, and independents grow tired of his antics and being represented by such an embarrassment. When that happens, they’ll look for leadership elsewhere.

That’s why we need to reach every voter in the district and let them know that Matt Gaetz has put our community and our nation on the wrong side of history and that it’s time or new leadership.
