By 2036, the U.S. could face a shortage of
86,000 physicians — a crisis that would hit rural communities like ours especially hard.
That’s why I introduced the bipartisan
Resident Physician Shortage Reduction Act of 2025 with my Republican colleague, Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick. This bill would expand Medicare-supported residency positions by 14,000 over the next seven years — helping ensure we have more qualified doctors serving our communities.
I’m determined to keep fighting for legislation like this that directly benefits our district, and I hope I can count on you to stand with me today, as grassroots support from people like you is what fuels this work. Will you chip in today to help me keep delivering for Alabama?
I know how polarized politics feels these days. But I’ve always believed that when it comes to the health and well-being of our families, there’s no room for gridlock. That’s why I’ve worked hard every year to build consensus and deliver results — securing over 1,000 new residencies in 2021 and another 200 in 2023.
Thank you for supporting this work,
Terri Sewell
