Lifesaving food — enough to feed thousands — was just burned.
More than 500 tons of U.S.-funded emergency food, intended for families
facing hunger, expired due to aid cuts and had to be destroyed before it
could reach them. In moments like this, your support becomes even more
powerful — because when aid funds fall short, it's people like you who
step in and make the difference.
These high-energy biscuits — filled with calories and other nutrients —
were left stranded in Dubai after the U.S. administration cut funds and
drastically reduced U.S. humanitarian efforts. This lifesaving and
life-sustaining food will no longer reach the people who need it most.

we start seeing the life-and-death impacts of global aid
funding cuts, we cannot sit idly by and allow innocent families to perish.
Will you rush a gift right now to help fill the gap being left behind?

Wasted food is just the tip of the iceberg. Across the globe, unfinished
water systems and other infrastructure, closed health centers, and
shuttered humanitarian programs have wasted not just money, but lives,
trust, and time. Just six months after the U.S. government began
terminating aid programs, the impact has been catastrophic. Across the
globe, millions of people have been cut off from food, water, shelter,
health care, and other life-saving support.
An estimated 132,000 lives may have already been lost, and another 176,000
are at risk by the end of this year. According to the World Food Program,
319 million people are facing acute levels of food insecurity worldwide.
Decimating foreign aid and allowing vital food to go to waste is costing
lives around the world, particularly in Sudan, Ethiopia, and the
Democratic Republic of Congo, where hunger and violence are rampant.
Here at Mercy Corps, we remain committed to ensuring that communities do
not pay the price for shifting political winds. In this critical moment,
we need your support.
