Oklahoma,

Great news. We've codified President Trump's first round of DOGE cuts into law! Early Thursday morning, we passed a rescissions package clawing back $9 billion in waste, fraud, and abuse. One thing is for sure: Americans did not vote overwhelmingly for the same Biden-era spending levels; they voted to get our fiscal house in order. Republicans are quickly delivering the president's MAGA campaign promises.

This week, Republicans in Congress successfully passed a $9 billion DOGE cuts package that cancels some of the most wasteful taxpayer-funded pet projects I’ve ever seen. Here are just some of the programs we clawed back, saving the taxpayers billions:

Canceled Democrat Priorities:
     - $1.1 billion for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting
     - $500,000 for electric buses in Rwanda
     - $6 million for “Net Zero Cities” in Mexico
     - $8,000 for promoting vegan food in Zambia
     - $3.3 million for civic engagement in Zimbabwe
     - $3 million for Iraqi Sesame Street
     - $1 million for Voter ID in Haiti
     - $18 million to improve gender diversity in the Mexican street lighting industry
     - $21 million on wind farms in Ukraine
     - $882,000 to fund social media mentorship in Serbia and Belarus

Hopefully, this is only the start. We’re already in touch with the White House on more. Remember: DOGE cuts are phase two of cutting spending in Washington, after we secured the largest spending cut in history in President Trump’s 'One, Big, Beautiful Bill.’ Next: we'll move on to the appropriations process. More on that later.

President Trump, the Senate GOP, and the House GOP accomplished something that has not been done since 1999—passing a rescissions package to cut spending. As I've shared there are three big phases to getting our fiscal house in order. Next is the appropriations process. A big question remains: will there be another 'Schumer Shutdown'?

On Monday, Army Secretary Dan Driscoll joined me on a tour of Fort Sill and the Joint C-sUAS University in Lawton, OK. We saw examples and progress of how we're defending against drones, protecting our warfighters, and safeguarding critical assets. The men and women at Lawton-Fort Sill did an excellent job in showcasing how they're leading the way in equipping our warfighters with cutting-edge technology and training.

On Wednesday, I met with William Kirkland, President Trump's nominee to be Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs at the U.S. Department of the Interior. It’s critical that the administration’s nominees understand the importance of upholding America’s trust and treaty responsibilities to Tribal nations—especially in a state like Oklahoma. I'm proud to say that Kirkland fits the mold of what Oklahoma needs at Interior, and I look forward to confirming him on the Senate floor.

The rhetoric on the left has gotten out of control. Their lies, exaggerations, and fear mongering is putting the brave men and women of Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) lives at risk. Attacks on ICE agents are up 830% since January! What’s worse, Washington liberals REFUSE to condemn the violence. On Tuesday, I joined Fox News's Sean Hannity on Hannity to express my disgust in their actions and give examples on how they've lost their ever-loving minds.

On Monday, The Daily Wire published my op-ed detailing how President Trump’s ‘One, Big, Beautiful Bill’ will protect and strengthen Medicaid for those who need it most. It's important we remember that Medicaid’s long-term stability is at risk and that to save it, Republicans are getting the waste, fraud, and abuse out of Medicaid to protect the well-being of America’s most vulnerable in the long term.
