I’m suing the Trump administration for its latest, reckless assault on the Affordable Care Act.

Colorado AG sues Trump administration over new ACA health coverage rules

I’m suing the Trump administration for its latest, reckless assault on the Affordable Care Act.

The administration’s new rule is cruel, illegal, and devastating. Even the administration's own analysis admits it will cause up to 1.8 million people to lose their health insurance, raise premiums, copays, and deductibles for millions more.

I have heard from many Coloradans already dealing with high costs of living and terrified about cuts to health care. If this illegal action by the Trump administration is allowed to stand, it means many people will face the prospect of paying more for doctor visits and medicine, or even lose their coverage entirely.

I’ve vigorously defended the Affordable Care Act during my time as attorney general because I know how many Coloradans rely on its protections to get the care they need. I won’t back down from this fight now, and I won’t back down as your next Governor. Health care is a right — and I’m going to keep fighting to protect it. In Colorado alone, more than 305,000 people now rely on the ACA exchange for their coverage — a record high. And nearly 80% of them need financial help to afford it. These are families, seniors, small business owners, gig workers — neighbors in every corner of the state.

If this rule goes into effect on August 25, we will see a wave of coverage losses and cost spikes. That’s why I’m taking action now — and suing the Trump administration to stop their attacks on Coloradans’ health care.

As your Attorney General, I’ve fought Trump in court before to protect access to health care — and I’ve won. I’ve also protected reproductive freedom, safeguarded voting rights, and stood up for education funding.

I won’t back down from this fight — or any fight where Coloradans’ rights are on the line. Even if it means taking on the President of the United States.

We need leaders who won’t flinch when people’s health and livelihoods are on the line. As your next Governor, I’ll be ready on day one to protect what matters most. If that sounds like the kind of leadership you want, then please, donate to my campaign today →
