Hello Friends,
I hope this note finds you well. I wanted to share some important developments out of Harrisburg. Earlier this week, House Democrats passed their proposed 2025–2026 spending plan. I hesitate to call it a true "budget"—because it lacks long-term responsibility and simply outlines how they intend to spend taxpayer dollars. Once again, we're seeing how easy some in government find it to spend other people’s money without considering the consequences.
Here’s the bottom line: this plan increases state spending far beyond what our revenues can support. If enacted, it would create a staggering $5.3 billion deficit—putting us on a path toward draining our reserves and triggering major tax hikes in just a few years. Fortunately, this isn’t the final word. The State Senate now has a chance to fix it, and I’m hopeful they'll push for a more fiscally responsible solution.
As your representative, I remain committed to commonsense budgeting and protecting Pennsylvania families from reckless tax-and-spend policies. We need to grow our economy—not government. Just this week, I attended the AI and Energy Summit at Carnegie Mellon, where it was clear: Pennsylvania has everything it needs to lead nationally. What we lack is a government that knows how to get out of the way and partner in that growth.
This fight couldn’t be more urgent. Right now, Democrats hold the State House by just one seat—102 to 101. As we saw with the passage of this spending plan, a single vote can reshape the future of our Commonwealth. The stakes in 2025 couldn’t be higher, and I’m counting on your support to hold the line and continue pushing for reform.
I’d love for you to join me next week at my reception and fundraiser at Wildwood Country Club on July 23rd. I’ll be sharing an inside look at what we’ve accomplished over the past six months—and what’s coming next. Everyone’s welcome, and there’s no set cost to attend—just come, and contribute what you’re able.
