Happy Park and Recreation Professionals Day and Parks and Recreation Month! Today, we celebrate the incredible individuals on the Frederick County Parks and Rec team - the hardworking people who make our community healthier, more active, and connected.

As County Executive, I have prioritized investments in parks and in recreation programming. It’s an important investment for the more than 3 million people who visited Frederick County’s parks last year - and a great way to protect our quality of life.

Yesterday, I visited one of our fantastic summer camps and saw our Parks and Rec team in action. I had a great time participating in activities and reading to some of our youngest campers. 

Please join me in thanking the people who keep our parks running - and, if you get the chance, please spend some time in our parks or on our trails this weekend!
