Email from Rep. Van Duyne This week, I introduced bipartisan legislation that will streamline how hospitals notify Organ Procurement Organizations   Washington, D.C. – It was great to see my friend Matthew Thomas and his family on their trip to Washington, he was even kind enough to share his new book with me! I always enjoy when neighbors from Texas-24 have the chance to stop in to visit the office. Tuesday, I was able to attend the One Big Beautiful Media Row, where I was joined by my friends Daniel Garza and Jorge Martinez of the Libre Initiative to talk about the benefits of the One Big Beautiful Bill! You can click here to watch one of our interviews we did in English and Spanish. I also had the opportunity to join the first ever New Media Row with the Republican Study Committee, where I was able to speak with independent journalists, creators and new media folks. It was great to see familiar faces and continue to share the message of all the work we have been up to this Congress. Creators are a leading force in how we communicate, build, and connect, which is why we launched the bipartisan Creators Caucus to ensure that creators have a voice here in Washington, and to better understand the opportunities and challenges they face in the digital economy. I had the wonderful opportunity to meet with Guru Sashank Aroul, a Texas-24 resident visiting D.C. with Autism Speaks. We spoke about his passion for advancing education in the autism community and the incredible work he's already doing, all while still in high school! He even shared a copy of the book he’s written to help raise awareness. That afternoon the Texas delegation gathered on the House Floor to honor those we lost in the Hill Country Floods with a Moment of Silence. We will continue to pray for all the families who have faced the unimaginable, celebrate the heroes, and will always honor the memory of those that we lost. Wednesday morning the Ways and Means Oversight Subcommittee met to have a hearing, "Making America the Crypto Capital of the World: Ensuring Digital Asset Policy Built for the 21st Century". Click here or on the photo below to watch my remarks. Later that afternoon, President Trump signed the HALT Fentanyl Act into law, a powerful step toward stopping the deadly drug crisis. House Republicans are fighting back against the cartels fueling this epidemic. I had a great time celebrating World Franchise Day with the International Franchise Association and other members of the Congressional Franchise Caucus. Franchise businesses are economic engines, creating local jobs, investing in our local communities, and fueling growth across the country. Glad to accept the Defender of Limited Government award from the Institute for Legislative Analysis for my voting record that reflects the values of North Texans: cutting the size, scope, and cost of the federal government while empowering growth, opportunity, and prosperity for Americans. Thursday, I joined my House Republican colleagues in voting to send the rescissions package to the President’s desk, cutting $9 billion in wasteful spending at the State Department, USAID, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. We’re keeping our promise to the American people to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse. With my House colleagues, we also voted to boost American innovation in cryptocurrency. The CLARITY Act, GENIUS Act, and Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act will help make crypto a strong part of our economy while protecting Americans’ privacy. Join me on Monday, July 21st for my Telephone Town hall, you can submit any questions you have for me here. I’m looking forward to connecting with thousands of you across North Texas to share updates about my work in Washington, answer your questions, and talk about our upcoming North Texas Job Fair on Thursday, August 7th at Globe Life Field. Call in to (833) 380-0733 at 6:30pm CT on Monday! Texas-24 Work of the Week This week, I introduced the Removing Burdens From Organ Donation Act, bipartisan legislation that will streamline how hospitals notify Organ Procurement Organizations. By automating this process, we can speed up lifesaving decisions and help more patients receive the transplants they desperately need. Texas-24 Hometown Hero This week’s Texas-24 Hometown Heroes are the men and women of the Fort Worth Fire Department and the Fort Worth Police Department. When historic flooding devastated the Texas Hill Country, both departments jumped into action, organizing donation drives at 45 locations to collect supplies for families in need. Thank you for going above and beyond for our fellow Texans. 2025 North Texas Job Fair On August 7th, I’m hosting the North Texas Job Fair at Globe Life Field in Arlington from 11am – 3pm.
