Hi John,

Let’s be honest: No one should be allowed to use their government job to pad their stock portfolio, especially not Members of Congress.

And yet, that’s exactly what’s happening.

Right now, lawmakers can access confidential briefings that the public never sees and use that confidential information to make trades that benefit their own bottom lines. It’s not just unethical, it’s dangerous. Because when politicians are making decisions that affect everything from housing to health care, we deserve to know they’re doing it for the right reasons, not to grow their own bank accounts.

If we want to restore trust in our government, we need to start with real accountability. That’s why I’m supporting the bipartisan TRUST Act, which would crack down on insider trading and ban Members of Congress from using their positions for personal financial gain. To get it passed, we’re going to need to show a major groundswell of grassroots support.
