john,
It’s National Park and Recreation Month, and here in WA-08, we’re lucky to call some of the most beautiful public lands in the country home.
From the snow-capped peaks of Mount Rainier to the wild forests of the North Cascades to the winding trails around Lake Chelan, these places are part of who we are.
But right now, our parks are under threat. Trump and his allies in Congress are trying to gut funding for public lands, slash protections for millions of acres, and roll back the programs our parks and forests rely on in order to thrive and remain open for our communities to experience and enjoy.
Thanks to Trump's Big Ugly bill, that also means Washington will have fewer resources to fight wildfires, repair trails, and protect the public spaces families count on to stay safe. Kim knows that these parks belong to all of us: not developers, not to special interests—but to the people and wildlife in Washington State. She's fighting to keep them that way.
But this fight is going to take all of us raising our voices and standing with leaders like Kim, a proven champion for our public lands, all the way to Congress and the White House. If you can, chip in whatever you’re able to help protect our public lands and defend the parks and forests that help make Washington so special. >>
