Yesterday, Congress voted to shut down funding for NPR and PBS—tantamount to a death sentence for these publicly funded broadcasters. 

When I made history as the first woman in my generation to be elected to office, my story was shared on NPR and in the PBS documentary And She Could Be Next.



In response I received an outpouring of messages from young women across the nation who saw the program and were inspired to run by my story. 

This is the power of public broadcasting. It inspires, informs, and it educates the public on the damage that the Trump administration is doing to our nation. They want to erase my story and stories like mine. 

I’m running for Congress in an open blue congressional district where I’m up against the same billionaires who elected Trump. They are working to fund and elect a trojan horse Democrat who will do their bidding — the type of Democrat who will let the NPR and PBS cuts stay in effect even if we take back the house.
