Fossil fueled fascists have been on the march all year – and recently they won a massive victory with passage of their Big Budget Bill. But nonviolent resistance has been rising too. And now, we need the training network to take it up a notch:
We've told you about mobilizations from the April 5 Hands Off day of action, to Earth Day-May Day including our march for climate and migrant justice in NYC. Tesla Takedown protests have exacted a major toll on the company’s sales and Elon Musk’s net worth. Mobilizations to stop the fossil fueled fascist budget, included the massive, record breaking, No Kings protests on June 14. There have been widespread protests against ICE raids in Los Angeles and beyond and the July 17 Good Trouble Lives On day of action in honor of John Lewis. And interest continues to build for the plan of escalating strikes leading to a general strike on May Day 2028.
But while each of these mobilizations is important and shows the public's clear desire to resist the regime, it's too soon to say if this will result in a true revolution or restructuring of deeply rooted power structures. To move beyond mobilization to deep organizing that empowers a movement to make change – we need people to do more than show up. We need to train, organize, and build.
And that's why we're one of a handful of antifascist climate action groups sponsoring a series of trainings for trainers — starting this July 12 and running until Aug 2 — in 11 locations. You've RSVP'd with us to one of the events in that list above. If you're ready to take the next step, sign up here!
Here's our plan: We are mobilizing activists across the country to level up their organizing skills and take action. Together we will confront the fossil fuel billionaires taking over our government and the worsening shift towards fascism and authoritarianism.
Our plan is to support actions and trainings in 100+ communities across the country this August and September. By training thousands of new and experienced activists, we will expand the numbers of people in the climate movement who can lead actions (and train others to do the same).
But to get to that scale, we need to train dozens of new trainers and action leaders. These aren't (just) the people who show up on a national day of action like No Kings or Hands off; these are folks ready, willing, and able to plan their own action in advance, and develop the team and skills they need for those actions to be effective.
We're looking for dozens of folks in cities and towns across the US who are ready to take the leap from saying "here I am" to saying "here we go" together. Sign up now to attend a regional training of trainers and tell us where and when you want to host an action. We'll follow up with information on the regional training of trainers, and mail you a common set of materials, tools, and curricula. We can also follow up with coaching, peer support, and resources to plan and run a great action and training.
Got questions about the plan, trainings, or details? Just reply to this email and I'll get back to you ASAP.
See you in the streets, and at a regional training of trainers,
