Did you know that the price of items like coffee, cocoa, wheat and sunflower oil are set to soar this year?

The combination of conflict and extreme weather events, such as drought, flooding and cyclones, is causing food shortages all around the globe. Unsurprisingly, refugees and people forced to flee are among the hardest hit, often suffering from hunger and malnutrition.

Joshua and I have been writing to you about our recent journey through South Sudan and Malawi, and the people we met who have fled war and violence and are now facing extreme flooding, drought and hunger.

We have had so many messages from all of you, asking us for more information and wanting updates on the people we met. So next week we decided to host a very special live event where we will talk about our travels, the people we met and the work UNHCR is doing. We are also going to screen some videos that bring the stories to life.
