Dear Neighbors,

There’s no shortage of news these days, especially as impactful state and federal laws go into effect this month. To talk about our work in the Minnesota Legislature, the harmful impacts of the Trump administration, and to answer your questions, I’ll be joining my District 40 colleagues for a virtual Town Hall on this upcoming Tuesday, July 22nd, at 6:30pm.

I hope you can join us! Please RSVP here to receive the link to the virtual event [ [link removed] ].

*Solidarity with Nurses and APPs*

In a climate marked by widespread assaults on organized labor, my colleagues and I in the House DFL caucus remain steadfast in our commitment to upholding workers’ fundamental rights to organize and collectively bargain.

That’s why we are deeply concerned by Essentia Health’s anti-union tactics, characterized by protracted negotiations with clinic nurses and an outright refusal to engage in discussions with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), despite a direct mandate from the regional National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

I stand in solidarity with our nurses and APPs fighting for a fair contract! We need Essentia Health to take these contract negotiations seriously. Fair contract now.

*Safe Medication Disposal*

With summer in full swing, it’s a great time to remember that safe medication disposal isn’t limited to the DEA-sponsored National Drug Take Back Days in April and October. With months between these national events, many Minnesota residents may be unsure how to properly dispose of unused or expired medications.

To address this need, MyOldMeds.com [ [link removed] ] offers a free resource to help individuals find secure, year-round medication disposal locations throughout the state.

Medication Disposal

MyOldMeds features a dedicated Minnesota resource page [ [link removed] ] that provides guidance on safely managing medications at home, discussing proper disposal with family members, and locating drop-off sites across the state - including several in our community.
