Now, more than 900 former Department of Justice officials – from the Kennedy administration through Trump’s – are urging the Senate to reject Bove.
In a public letter, they wrote:
“We are all alarmed by DOJ leadership’s recent deviations from constitutional principles and institutional guardrails… Emil Bove has been a leader in this assault.”
These officials have served under both parties. They know exactly how dangerous this nomination is – and they’re sounding the alarm.

Donald Trump has nominated Emil Bove to a lifetime seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit – and we need your voice to help stop this dangerous nomination.
Bove is not a judge. And his professional record shows no history of impartial decision-making or judicial temperament – just partisan loyalty and political calculation. When the Senate tried to assess whether he could be trusted to uphold the rule of law, he refused to answer even the most basic questions about our democracy.
❌ Would Bove acknowledge that Donald Trump can’t run for a third term? No.
❌ Would he say the January 6 insurrection was wrong? No.
❌ Would he even tell us where he was on January 6? No.
And it’s not just us saying this. According to The Daily Beast, former Justice Department prosecutors have called Bove “the worst conceivable nominee” for a federal judgeship – “unfit,” “unqualified,” and someone who has “no business being a judge.”
He was picked for one reason: because Trump knows Bove will be loyal to him, not the Constitution.
This is how Trump plans to bend the judiciary to his will – by installing collaborators into lifetime seats just one step from the Supreme Court. And unless we raise our voices now, the Senate Judiciary Committee could vote as soon as next week to advance his nomination.
