Yesterday brought a major win for our community. Local officials and community groups were able to reach an agreement with Lakeside Industries to halt the proposed Cedar River asphalt plant. In its place, a warehouse will be built that avoids the potential impacts associated with an asphalt facility.
This is a huge victory for our region! It safeguards our environment, respects community wishes, and allows Lakeside Industries to finally utilize this space in a productive way. I’m incredibly thankful for all parties working together to come to this agreement.
Friend, I’ve been fighting for our community for years to get us to this point. Whether it was passing moratoriums, making our case to the press, or waving signs alongside you, the truth is that
there is no substitute for hard work. We got here by working hard—together—and I’d do it all again in a heartbeat, because nothing matters more to me than protecting our community.
But I couldn’t have done it without you! Your generous support enables me to go out and get victories like this for our community—victories that are sometimes years in the making! If you would be willing to support me so I can continue to protect our neighborhoods, I’d be honored to have you by my side!
I’m incredibly grateful for this recent success, but there are many more challenges headed our way. I need your support moving forward so that I continue to fight to protect our community from extreme tax hikes, unwise cuts to law enforcement resources, and radical downtown-Seattle policies that hurt our suburban and rural neighborhoods.
