Please sign our Emergency Petition today Hello John,

Forgive me for being blunt, but this situation needs your immediate attention! As Max alerted all of us yesterday, a powerful group of fiscal hawks in Washington is demanding that President Trump move forward with his devastating plan for a payroll tax cut — while urging him to veto any coronavirus relief legislation that lands on his desk in the future. And we need you to weigh into this urgent situation ASAP!

If you haven't yet signed our Emergency Petition to President Trump, please take a moment to do it right now. [link removed] And if you've already signed it: Thank you. There is simply too much at stake for us to remain silent in this historic time. To help the National Committee continue our fight for your earned benefits and your well-being, please also consider making a gift in whatever amount you can afford today. [link removed] Your gift will go directly to the frontlines of our full-time battle on Capitol Hill to protect and strengthen older Americans' financial and health security during this uncertain time.

Sincerely, Julie Lynch
Member Services Manager

Begin forwarded message: [link removed] SIGN Our Emergency Petition to
President Trump Now! [link removed] DearJohn, Callous. Cruel. Wrongheaded. These are just a few words to describe what has just happened in Washington. A powerful group of influential fiscal hawks, economic think tank leaders and White House allies — including Stephen Moore, Arthur Laffer, former Senator Jim DeMint (SC) and Americans for Tax Reform president Grover Norquist, among others — have sent a letter to President Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell urging them to outright abandon efforts now underway to pass the next coronavirus economic relief bill in Congress.
These are many of the same groups that supported the Trump-GOP tax law mainly benefiting the wealthiest Americans, which exploded budget deficits, so we know where their priorities lie. And their campaign comes at a time when millions of older Americans are counting on our government's help just to survive this pandemic both financially and physically.

What's worse, in addition to demanding President Trump withdraw his support for the next coronavirus economic relief package, this same powerful group is now throwing their support behind his reckless payroll tax cut scheme, [link removed] which would starve Social Security of much-needed revenue and likely open the door to devastating cuts, even privatization.
That's why your voice must be heard NOW, before harmful decisions are made in Washington! So please, sign our Emergency Petition to President Trump urging him to support legislation that addresses the critical health and economic needs of older Americans — and to stop pushing his reckless payroll tax cut plan that will hurt Social Security!
We need to tell President Trump that older Americans expect him to keep the promise he made to protect seniors' Social Security. And we expect him to prioritize the safety, well-being and financial security of older Americans as he continues to navigate through the coronavirus pandemic.

This is truly an unprecedented time in our nation's history. And this is not a moment to sit on the sidelines and hope for the best. That's why I urge you to sign our Emergency Petition to President Trump [link removed] and let him know exactly where you stand on the dangerous push to implement the payroll tax cut and the urgent need for him to support legislation that helps offset the devastating impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
          Sincerely, Max Richtman
