Hi friend,
Earlier this month, Republican Congressman Gabe Evans cast a decisive vote green-lighting the most significant cuts to vital food assistance programs that we have ever seen.
Yes, unfortunately, you read that correctly.
A new report suggests that 27,000 Coloradans are now at risk of losing food assistance because Gabe Evans voted to slash SNAP funding. Why? To subsidize a massive tax break to billionaires and corporations, no less.
About 10% of Coloradans rely on SNAP to pay for groceries, and about 43% of Colorado SNAP households rely on those funds to feed their children.
Whoever Gabe Evans is fighting for, it certainly isn’t his constituents, since a recent poll found over 80% of CO-08 voters support SNAP and 66% support increasing or maintaining funding for the vital food assistance program.
On top of that, Gabe’s vote could kick nearly 225,000 Coloradans off their health insurance and eliminate thousands of clean energy jobs.
Team, we deserve better, and Dave agrees. That’s why he’s running for Congress. To fight for our working families and bring real leadership to Colorado’s 8th Congressional District.
