Right now → NPR sues the Trump administration after public media defunding bill passes the House last night
After Trump pushed a rescission vote in Congress to pull $1.1 billion in funding, NPR fired back with a lawsuit claiming that cutting funding to the 246-station network violates its free speech rights and relies on an authority that he does not have.
But we have no idea where local supporters stand on this issue, so we’re circulating this poll to gauge public opinion. Please take 1 minute to respond to this short poll:
Do you support NPR standing up to Trump’s attacks?
For decades, NPR and local stations delivered trusted news, educational content, and emergency alerts to underserved communities.
But then Trump went on a smear campaign to drag NPR’s reputation through the mud, declaring the group a ‘liberal disinformation machine,’ aiming to punish journalists who cover his administration without bias.
So now, NPR is fighting back, calling Trump and his cronies’ actions an attack on the First Amendment.
And with Congress closing in on a vote to strip NPR of funding, we’re facing a dangerous test in this country, one where a president can defund the press just because he doesn’t like how they report on him.
But we've no information on how supporters in your area feel about this issue, so we’ve selected you to represent your area in our dataset. So please respond right away:
Do you support NPR standing up to Trump’s attacks?
Thank you for responding.
