You may not know this about me, but as a child, I had
severe chronic asthma.

It started when I was in elementary school. At first, the doctors thought
it was pneumonia. But as it didn’t get any better, it became clear it was
something else.
Between seemingly endless hospital visits and staying home from not
feeling well, I missed so much school that I needed a tutor from the
district to help me catch up. Even worse, my single mom had to stay home
from work often to help care for me — and even risked losing her job.
My mom, my grandmother, and my aunties did everything they could to take
care of me, even when it meant going into bankruptcy to pay the hospital
bills. Luckily, Medicaid was there to help make ends meet.
Even though I was young, I knew that my health impacted my family’s
financial stability, and I felt terrible that there was nothing I could
do.
We survived because our community wrapped their arms around us.
Now, I work every day to pay it forward. That’s why I’m fighting to stop
Trump’s disastrous Medicaid cuts and make health care affordable for all
families.
[ [link removed] ]In the Senate, I’ll continue fighting tooth and nail to make life
better for Minnesotans. But I can’t win this fight alone - I need you with
me as I take on the status quo in DC. Will you step up and make a
contribution now?

Too many Minnesota families, like mine, get bogged down by expensive
medical bills, the cost of health insurance, or overpriced prescription
drugs. Folks feel like they’re a paycheck away from the bottom falling out
— a feeling I’m all too familiar with.
As a born and raised Minnesotan, paying it forward and helping our
neighbors in need isn’t just talk. It’s been at the heart of my public
service since day one.
So the question is: Do you want a senator who claims to care about
lowering health care costs, or someone who has felt that pain and is
motivated by making the system work better for families in similar
situations every day?
[ [link removed] ]If your answer is the latter, can you give
$10 or
whatever you can afford? I get what folks are up against, and that will never
change.
