Hello John,

SR.525

Last week, the Senate passed resolution SR.525 that encourages the government to implement more pressure on the Nicaraguan government that is already under our sanctions by the NICA Act 2018 .

The NICA Act was passed after a violent US-backed coup attempt in 2018.

Both, the resolution and the act are parts of the long adopted imperialist foreign policy by our government. Currently, we have more than 20 countries around the world under our sanctions. The neocons in our government have been using sanctions as tools for their regime-change policies. This is an abhorrent policy, it violates the Universal Declaration of Human rights, hurt the vulnerable of the people, and in a lot of cases kill them.

It is also worth mentioning that there is another bill to increase the sanctions on Syria passed the House this month and waiting for the Senate vote.

Sanctions must stop. I will use every opportunity I have to raise the public awareness of sanctions, and if elected I will fight against these atrocities.

I am pleased to announce that I have been co-nominated by the Oregon Progressive Party. The OPP has a lot in common with the Green Party and used to be the Peace Party in the past. This endorsement will help to grow our campaign, I am thankful for their trust.
