Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene sounded off on Democrat Rep. Melanie Stansbury [ [link removed] ] after she made scathing accusations towards Republicans and the Trump administration for “stealing the power of the people,” during a defense budget hearing.

”Let us be clear, the White House and an unelected bureaucrat is trying to steal the power of the purse and to steal the power of the people!!” Stansbury said. “This is happening under your watch! … You are giving away our constitutional authority to a corrupt and chaotic administration!”
Shortly after Stansbury’s floor speech, Greene took the podium, reminding Democrats that America stands alone [ [link removed] ] to handle its own problem, and no foreign country is sending us aid as we send billions around the globe to help them.
“I’d like to ask, what foreign country showed up to help Americans in our time of distress, in our humanitarian crisis?!” Greene asked. “Which foreign country said ‘here America, here is millions and billions of dollars to help you!’ I’m going to tell you zero!!”
“Here we are again, while the American people are enslaved by $30 trillion in debt,… [ [link removed] ] we go by this belief that we have to fund every foreign country around the world!” Greene continued. “I say enough! And the American people say enough!”

Domestic violence survivors blast Mamdani for ignorant police comments
NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani's 2020 comments opposing police response to domestic violence calls have resurfaced, where he argued that domestic violence situations "would be far better handled [ [link removed] ] by people trained to deal with those specific situations, as opposed to an individual with a gun."
Domestic violence survivors and advocates are warning that lives could be endangered if Mamdani implements these policies, with Michelle Esquenazi saying victims "hiding in the bathroom with their children" need immediate police protection because "it's a matter of life and death."
Multiple survivors credit police with saving their lives, including Esquenazi who says NYPD officers protected her and her children during a 1993 attack by her ex-husband, and Jennifer Harrison whose life was saved when a cop warned her that her dangerous boyfriend was returning home.
Women's safety advocates emphasize the critical need for armed police response, noting that domestic violence is the "leading cause of homicide death for women" and that 30% of women experience intimate partner violence, making fast law enforcement response with proper training and resources essential.
CBS cancels Stephen Colbert for “financial” reasons
