When Jackie arrived at our Los Angeles sanctuary as a young cow, she already carried the weight of profound loss.
Just days earlier, she had given birth on the floor of a Utah slaughterhouse. Sadly, her baby, John, was gravely ill. Despite us providing veterinary care during transport, he passed away before he could begin a new life at Farm Sanctuary.
Jackie arrived grieving and afraid, but our loving bovine family gave her a warm welcome. She soon grew close to Dixon, an orphaned calf, and their bond helped Jackie begin to heal. As we’ve seen time and time again, sanctuary turned loss into love.
That’s because every gift you make by July 31 will be 100% matched, up to our $50,000 Annual Fund goal, to care for sanctuary residents like Jackie and advocate for countless animals still suffering on America’s factory farms.
