Today, millions of Americans are casting votes that could change the course of history. My friends and fellow changemakers New York & Kentucky are both in extremely competitive races. We don’t know if they will win at the polls; but we do know they have already won the hearts & minds of voters across their districts.
When Americans across the country dare to believe in a better future, we are already winning. That’s why this isn’t just a moment—it’s a movement, and it belongs to all of us.
These last few years, my Brand New Congress & Justice Democrat slatemates have become a community I never knew I needed. From Missouri to Texas, Illinois to New York, Kentucky to West Virginia—we are changing the way people see politics. And that’s no small feat.
Each one of us have invested in something bigger than ourselves, bigger than even our communities, bigger than what politicians have
always told us was possible. I know that all of us have the vision and drive to get to Congress. But we are ALL still up against a formidable opponent: racist voter suppression.
Just like what you’ve probably seen in Kentucky and New York, our campaign is gearing up for the most intense stage of GOTV yet, where we will:
- Approve new mailers, literature, digital and radio ads;
- Organize hundreds of volunteers in the district to reach voters;
- Train thousands of volunteers across the country to send texts and make calls for Cori;
- And prepare voters for every hoop our Republican leadership will make them jump through just to cast their ballots.
This means we have to fundraise more than any other month cycle-to-date! We could be waiting until next week for final election results for both New York and Kentucky. So in the meantime, we must stay focused on the long-term goals of our movement, and remind ourselves that the fight is not over.
The work never stops—that’s why I still need to know that no matter what, I can count on your support until we reach August 4th. Will you help us maintain this momentum?
We’re so close. Let’s do this!
In solidarity,
Cori Bush
