We demand polluters pay for the damage they’ve caused. City Council passed my resolution with Youth v. Oil backing the Polluters Pay Climate Superfund Act, holding fossil fuel companies financially responsible for cleanup and supporting community health and climate projects. We affirm San Diego’s commitment to environmental justice and accountability for the harm these industries inflict.

WIDENING THE WALKWAY

Video

The Scripps Park sidewalk will be replaced with a 10-foot sidewalk recognizing the heavy use this route receives that often causes folks to trample on the adjacent turf. I helped secure funding to replace the walkway adjacent to Coast Blvd and restore the damaged turf. This long overdue widening right-sizes this popular walkway, eliminates the dirt footpath, and restores the beauty of this iconic park. Thank you to the community organizations that made this project their number one priority.

TEAM LACAVA TOURS

#TeamLaCava took part in a "Public Utilities Department 101” to learn how staff manage 9 reservoirs, 3 water treatment plants, 3 wastewater treatment plants, 131 pump stations, and over 6,300 miles of pipeline to deliver clean water to 1.4 million people and safely treat wastewater for 2.2 million across the region. Grateful for our PUD teams who keep it all flowing.
