1. Epstein prison footage was edited
Okay, everyone is talking about Jeffrey Epstein. But not everyone is harping on how almost three minutes were clipped from the FBI’s “raw” surveillance release. This is evidenced; Adobe Premiere markers confirm this was not an accidental cut of Epstein’s “suicide” in prison. The DOJ claimed it was a glitch, but honestly this only strengthens conspiracy theories and raises new questions about what was removed and what really happened. Eliza Orlins explains:
2. Senate set to defund Elmo
The Senate reconciliation package does not usually make headlines, but as seems to be the case with everything during this Administration, Trump is using this mechanism as an opportunity to further destroy the U.S. government. How? He’s going after Elmo. You heard that right, the Trump-backed reconciliation package will strip $1.1 billion from public broadcasting like NPR and PBS (home of the beloved Sesame Street), along with major USAID cuts. 3. Trump administration starving children
Trump gives no f*cks about human lives. Extreme you say? Let me clarify: the Tangerine Tyrant plans to burn nearly 500 metric tons of USAID emergency food. This is food that has been sitting in customs awaiting distribution (delayed by the dismantling of USAID) long enough that it’s set to expire. This is food that U.S. taxpayer dollars have already been spent on. It’s also enough food to feed 1.5 million children for a week. Instead of simply releasing the food before expiration, Trump has dictated that the U.S. government should spend additional taxpayer dollars to incinerate this food aid. It’s a shocking and cruel waste of our tax dollars and a disgusting example of how little this Administration cares about humanity. Pullups Pasta Politics tells us more:
4. Red states gerrymandering their way to a win
Led by Governor Hot Wheelz™ (Jasmine Crockett) and pushed by Trump, Texas has launched a mid-decade redistricting blitz, intended to clinch five GOP House seats, by disproportionately damaging Black and Latino voting representation. Other red states - including Ohio and Wisconsin - are following Texas’s lead prompting lawsuits and renewed legal scrutiny. Sylvia S shares more:
