Dear Friend,
Let me be clear: I will fight to protect your access to healthcare and food assistance because I know how many families count on it. Trump's Big Ugly Bill guts Medicaid and SNAP, cutting off people from their doctors, prescriptions, and the food they need to get through the week. That’s not just bad policy; it’s cruel.
And I have to say, watching Trump and his buddies celebrate those cuts on the Fourth of July, a day meant to honor our freedoms and values, was downright disgusting. There’s nothing patriotic about taking food and medicine away from working people, seniors, and veterans.
I am fighting back. I voted against these cuts, I’ve backed bills that protect these programs, and I’ve spoken out every chance I get, both on the House floor and right here in our communities. And yes, I also voted to impeach Donald Trump, because enough is enough.
To me, healthcare and putting food on the table aren't political talking points; they’re real-life issues. I’ve met American families who are working two jobs who still rely on SNAP to feed their kids. I’ve listened to seniors who need Medicaid to afford their heart medicine. These are our neighbors, our family, our friends. And they deserve better.
I didn’t come to Congress to play games. I came here to work for you. I won’t sit back while politicians try to take away what working people have earned.
You put your trust in me to fight for you, and I’m not letting up.
