John,

Over the past few months, the coronavirus pandemic has taught our country many lessons – including the importance of expanding access to reliable broadband internet.

Schools across Washington state and nationwide were suddenly closed with teachers and parents abruptly forced to figure out how to continue educating our young students. While virtual learning is considered the obvious answer, it’s not a possibility for schools or families that lack a broadband internet connection or the proper bandwidth in order to get online. The same issue presents challenges to employees working from home, small businesses trying to access markets for their goods, and patients who need to speak to their doctors through telemedicine appointments.

It’s unfortunate that in 2020, many folks here in the third district still lack access to robust and wide-reaching high-speed internet, and in these current circumstances, it’s hurting working families, businesses, and our children.

That’s why I believe the time has come to pass broadband expansion for all, and it’s one of the key issues I intend to address in Congress if you elect me this November.

If you agree it’s time to bring Washington’s third district into the 21st century and expand high-speed broadband internet access, add your name to my petition today and show your support.

This is a simple yet critical step to lifting our communities up, and I fully intend to get it done in Congress with you by my side.

Thanks,

Carolyn
