These people have been denied bond hearings by this administration, leaving them detained indefinitely or deported without due process. I attempted to do my job and perform Congressional oversight at these detention centers, but I was turned away more than once before they finally let me in. I’m not the only Member of Congress to be denied. Over 10 of my colleagues have been turned away from these detention centers across the country—just for doing their job of getting answers for the American people. The Trump Administration is violently detaining people, keeping them in horrible conditions, and deporting them to random countries—and they are hiding it from the American people. I am appalled by the treatment of our immigrant communities, and I will continue speaking out against this administration and their immoral policies.
