Why do I support Gina Ortiz Jones for Congress?

Well, I know a thing or two about beating a Republican in a tough race, and I
know that Gina has what it takes to flip TX-23 from red to blue.

From bridging the gaps between our rural and urban communities, to fighting
for access to health care and good paying jobs all over South and West Texas, I
know that Gina will always fight for what’s best for Texas’ 23rd Congressional
District, even when it’s tough.

But she needs our help to win this November. Running a race like this takes
immense resources, and Gina needs every single one of us fighting with her.

When I ran for Senate in 2012, folks said that a Democrat could never win a
statewide election in North Dakota. We made history then, and we’re going to
make history this year when we send Gina to Congress.

For too long, rural communities in TX-23 and across the country have been
underserved and underrepresented. Gina understands that investments in our
rural communities, like expanding access to high-speed internet and providing
job training in the field of renewable energy, are investments in our country’s
future.

The upcoming end-of-quarter deadline is significant for many reasons, but most
of all, it’s Gina’s chance to show dark money groups that her campaign is a
force to be reckoned with. If she doesn’t make this goal, her opponents will
take it as a sign of weakness.
