In the dead of night, Senate Republicans, including Steve Daines, voted to zero out all federal funding for PBS and NPR.

This is a devastating blow to rural Montana, where families rely on public media for local news, weather updates, children’s programming and critical emergency alerts.

This defunding will gut rural emergency alert systems and force stations in small communities off the air. The people who lose the most? Seniors, families, farmers, and folks without access to cable or high-speed internet.
