Soft Jay Jones Will NOT Keep Us Safe

Today, the campaign of Jason Miyares launched its first television ad of the general election. The ad, titled Soft Jay Jones Will Not Keep Us Safe will air in the Richmond, Roanoke, and Hampton Roads TV markets contrasting Attorney General Miyares’ record of accomplishment to the brutal failures of Jay Jones’ radical record.
Jay Jones has centered his campaign on 'justice reform'—and if that looks anything like his record as a Delegate, Virginians have every reason to be concerned.
Soft Jay Jones has stood with criminals at every step. Sponsoring a bill that would cut violent felons’ prison sentences in half, voting to end mandatory minimum sentences for repeat domestic abusers and drug dealers selling on school grounds, and even supporting an end to cash bail – returning violent criminals to our streets almost as quickly as they were arrested.
The list does not stop there, Jay Jones’ policies of failure stand to dismantle every inch of progress that has been made over the last 4 years. Simply put, Virginia cannot afford a return to the criminal-first agenda that loomed over the Commonwealth 4 years ago.
Jason Miyares on the other hand has a proven record of accomplishment. He has stood up to large corporations – securing over $1.5 billion for Virginia's Opioid Abatement Authority which is now being used to fight addiction. Miyares launched Operation Ceasefire – a crime interdiction program leading to a 30% drop in murders and an 11% drop in violent crime across the Commonwealth. And has fought the woke agenda that threatens every corner of our lives – removing men from girls’ sports and locker rooms and standing with law enforcement.
Virginia, the stakes could not be higher and the contrast could not be any clearer. Soft Jay Jones is too weak for Virginia.
