** Supermarket giant in the climate spotlight ([link removed])

International supermarket giant Ahold Delhaize appears to be lagging behind in phasing out climate-harming refrigeration – even though CEO Frans Muller was until recently the co-chair of the influential Consumer Goods Forum, which is committed to speeding up the transition to natural refrigerants. Ahold Delhaize was one of five major supermarket chains assessed in the new EIA report Cooling the Climate Crisis – Why investing in sustainable refrigeration is crucial for decarbonising supermarkets.

** Yahoo! Japan’s polluted cetacean meat sales ([link removed])

EIA and our partners have called on Yahoo! Japan and its parent company, the LY Corporation, to stop selling products containing whale and dolphin meat after we found high levels of toxins in some of the nearly 1,000 cetacean food items available.

EIA has added its voice to civil society organisations calling on all EU institutions and member states to stand by their commitments and uphold the integrity of the landmark European Union Deforestation Regulation in the face of efforts to dilute it.
