Remember how the Trump administration is withholding over $100 million in education funding from Arizona?
Well, Attorney General Mayes had a response for Mr. Trump. That response is a lawsuit—practically telling Trump to get his grimy, spray-tan, tangerine hands off our education.
This isn't the first or only lawsuit Attorney General Mayes has filed against Trump, but it could be one of the most important ones.
This isn't just any funding—it’s education funding. That is something that Arizona is in desperate need of. Our teachers get paid way too little, have little to no support from Arizonan Republicans, and the state of Arizona ranks near the bottom in education among all 50 states.
But MAGA Republicans are fine with this. Why? Because they hate public schools.
But you know what's funny?: an Arizona private school gave us Laura Loomer.
Yes, that Laura Loomer—Trump’s bigoted hype woman and close adviser who thinks “Marxist Jews” secretly run the planet, claims immigrants are out here grilling cats and dogs, and voluntarily ate pet food on camera during her podcast… then went back for seconds!
So let's ask Republicans, if Arizona private schools are the answer for everyone, how did we end up with someone who makes Hannibal Lecter look like a grounded public health expert?
This is why this lawsuit is so important. It's a move to protect our public education. Thankfully, we have Attorney General Mayes, Governor Hobbs, and Secretary of State Fontes who have been constantly fighting against these harmful cuts. Unfortunately for us, they're all up for re-election in 2026, and some of them only won by less than 1% back in 2022
