I wanted to follow up on Nicole's email, John. In just the last several days, 12,583 people have signed our petition to demand Congress finally make high-capacity magazines illegal – but it looks like you haven't added your name yet.
We know there is no shortage of other priorities right now. But with more children's lives at risk every minute that Congress refuses to take action, it's still as critical as ever that we work to prevent gun violence before it happens.
This commonsense piece of gun safety legislation might have saved precious lives at Sandy Hook Elementary, and we know it can save precious lives right now.
That's why we need you to help us reach 25,000 petition signatures demanding Congress limit the size of gun ammunition magazines to 10 rounds to help protect more children from gun violence. Will you sign our petition now?

Subject: Please sign: Limit high-capacity gun magazines now
John,
The shooter who murdered my beautiful butterfly Dylan took ten 30-round gun magazines into Sandy Hook Elementary. It only took him approximately four minutes to shoot 154 bullets, killing 20 students and six educators.
In an instant, my baby boy was gone forever.
In the time it took the shooter to pause and reload between magazines, 11 children were able to escape. I can't help but think about how, if those magazines were limited to just a fraction of the rounds, Dylan might still be alive today.
That's why I need your help right now. More than a year ago, a bill was introduced in Congress to limit the size of ammunition magazines to 10 rounds – but Congress has refused to even vote on it.
I know there are a lot of other priorities at the moment, but more children's lives are at risk every day that Congress fails to pass this legislation. That's why it's critical that we collect 25,000 petition signatures demanding that Congress finally act before more lives are senselessly lost. Will you please sign our petition now?

Dylan continues to be a light in my life, and I will spend the rest of my days building a legacy for him that ensures his light continues to shine. By helping me in this work to protect children like him from gun violence, you're making that legacy possible.
Thank you so much – it truly means the world to me.
With love,
Nicole Hockley (Dylan's mom)
