Republican Speaker of the House Matt Hall’s failed leadership has been a disaster for Michigan families. In six months, the Michigan House under his control has managed to send just six bills to Governor Whitmer’s desk. This is the slowest start to a legislative session in decades.

Meanwhile, Michigan taxpayers keep footing the bill so Matt Hall and his caucus can play political games, take taxpayer-funded paychecks, and bow to Trump’s every whim.

Matt Hall could find time in his “busy” schedule to jet off to DC and kiss Trump’s ring, but when it comes to the basic job of governing, like passing a budget, moving bills, and serving Michigan families, he’s nowhere to be found.

With a government shutdown looming, Michiganders are left wondering why Matt Hall and House Republicans refuse to do their jobs.

When Michigan Democrats had the majority, we expanded civil rights, created good-paying jobs, and still delivered a budget on time.

The difference this session? Matt Hall and his Republican caucus are in charge instead of Democrats. They’re blocking transparency, refusing to move bills, and leaving Michigan families in the lurch.
