Five years ago today, we lost Rep. John Lewis — a titan of the civil
rights movement. He risked his life for the right to vote, marched across
bridges with broken bones, an unbreakable spirit, and spent every ounce of
his life fighting for our democracy.
Today, millions will follow his lead.
Across the country, communities will take to the streets, courthouses, and
public spaces to carry forward his fight for justice, voting rights, and
dignity for all.

We're not just honoring John Lewis's memory,
John — we're continuing his
fight.
Because the threats we face today are real.
The conservative majority on the Supreme Court has spent more than a
decade hollowing out the Voting Rights Act in a series of dangerous
opinions, while Trump and his MAGA cronies are doing everything they can
to upend our democracy and roll back all of the hard fought progress
leaders like John Lewis and others sacrificed so much for.
Now it’s on us to pick up the baton he carried and continue his fight for
a more equitable country. Lewis famously called his activism “good
trouble.” Today, let’s make some.
