Action Alert

Next Monday, June 29, the Texas State Board of Education (SBOE) will begin discussing revisions to Health education standards (Health TEKS), including sex education, for all Texas public school students. Sex education is not required to be taught in Texas public schools, and current law, in Texas Education Code 28.004, requires an abstinence focused approach if sex education is taught.

Leftist LGBT advocacy groups are calling this a “once in-a-generation opportunity” to attack Texas’ abstinence focused approach and teach highly sexualized LGBT propaganda starting in kindergarten.

All Texans must take action today by contacting the SBOE to support Texas’ common sense, abstinence focused approach. The future of 5.5 million public school students hangs in the balance.

Radical organizations like SIECUS and Texas Freedom Network, which were both started by Planned Parenthood, have been putting enormous pressure on the SBOE to adopt “comprehensive” sex education seen in states like California and here in Texas in Austin ISD.

Comprehensive sex education is simply a code name for radical sex education that teaches children that sex is theirs to explore whenever and wherever they choose, that gender is “fluid” and has nothing to do with a child’s biological sex, and that abortion is a basic right that should be unapologetically promoted.

Please take these two action steps to protect Texas children:

  1. CLICK HERE to send a message to your SBOE member.

  2. Please also consider providing testimony directly to the SBOE during their virtual meeting on Monday, June 29. Our team will be testifying during the meeting. To testify virtually, you must signup at this link between 8 AM on Thursday, June 25 and 5 PM on Friday, June 26. If you are able to testify, please contact our Policy Advisor Mary Elizabeth Castle at [email protected]. She can help ensure you get signed up and provide you with additional talking points to help you prepare testimony, if needed.
