Friend --
Today is
Black Women’s Equal Pay Day.
When compared to White,
non-Hispanic men, Black women earn only $.61 (cents) on the $1. This
means the typical Black woman must work until August 22, 2019 to be
paid what the typical White man was paid at the end of December
2018.
We demand more.
In partnership with Equal Pay
Today, we are speaking out on the wage gap of Black women and making
it clear we #DemandMore at work, as a consumer, and at the ballot
box.
Join us today for our Twitter Storm from 2:00pm - 3:00pm ET
using #BlackWomensEqualPay, #DemandMore, and
#BlackWomenLead.

On this #BlackWomensEqualPayDay and
at this critical time for our nation ahead of 2020, Black women
nationwide—like you—are demanding more for their contributions, their
dollars and their votes.
As we continue to learn more about
the 2020 White House hopefuls, we must pay close attention to which
candidates are willing to prioritize closing the gender pay gap within
their policy platforms.
Thank you for being a part of
the #BlackWomenLead movement
and joining the conversation today from 2-3 p.m. ET and raise your
voice to demand the respect we deserve.
Onward,
Glynda
