I don't know about you, but there aren't many groups more important to me than my local public radio station. 

From covering the stories closest to my home in Shawnee, to keeping our family up to date during Tornado season, local public radio has a special place in Oklahoma. 

I can't tell you the number of times I've been driving on a State Highway and depended upon local public radio to keep me safe from hail cores and hook echoes. 

And right now, all of Oklahoma's Representatives in Congress, are preparing to take hundreds of thousands of dollars away from those essential services.

But, there's still time!

I know we're all tired of leaving unanswered messages with elected officials in Washington who never seem to listen to us. But I promise you their offices track how many people call and why.

Because of pressure from constituents, Senate Republicans made changes to this package just yesterday.

They just protected funding for a globally renowned aid program that works to stop the spread of HIV in Africa. 

You can call today and remind our Representatives that public radio in Oklahoma is CRUCIAL to public safety in our hometowns.

You still have a chance to remind them that they work for all of us back here in Tornado Alley -- not the lobbyists in DC.
