Hi John,
Although we’ve had recent wins for our public lands, such as the removal of the proposal to put 250 million acres of public lands up for sale from the Reconciliation bill, we’re still seeing unprecedented assaults on our public lands by the Trump Administration. The fight is not over yet, so we need to continue putting on the pressure to show our legislators how much we care about our public lands. Will you take a second to sign our petition and take a stand for public lands?

In the past few months we’ve seen lay-offs of essential staff who care for our public lands, funding stripped away, public lands opened up for extraction, and even the proposal to sell them off to Trump’s billionaire donors and big corporations. These public lands are special, and they belong to us.
As an OLCV member, you know just how important these lands are. That’s why so many of you shared your public lands story with us. This is Patricia Armstrong’s story:
“At 78 I have had a lifetime of visiting National Forests. They have shaped my love of nature, and the deep realization that it is our national duty to protect them. They are ours. I grieve over the loss of any of these special places. They can not be replicated. Once they are gone they are gone.” |
