Dear Future Caucus community,
We’re thrilled to share that our president and CEO, Layla Zaidane, has been named a 2025 John P. McNulty Prize winner by the John P. and Anne Welsh McNulty Foundation, in partnership with the Aspen Institute. |
The McNulty Prize honors leaders tackling the world’s most urgent challenges through bold, values-driven action. Layla’s selection recognizes the work of the entire Future Caucus community: young lawmakers across the country who are advancing a new era of collaborative governance—one rooted in empathy, pragmatism, and cross-partisan leadership.
In Layla’s words, "Amid the noisy discord of our politics and the chaos of the attention economy, a genuine movement is taking root among the next generation of lawmakers. At Future Caucus, we’ve long believed that empathy, pragmatism and cross-partisan collaboration aren’t just ideals — they’re non-negotiable practices in a healthy democracy. Young public servants across the country are proving that a more responsive, resilient culture of governing is possible. They’re stepping up to lead with clarity and resolve, working within our institutions to transform them from the inside out. I’m honored that the McNulty Foundation recognizes this movement and the promise of a rising generation of leaders to build a better path forward."
A short documentary film highlighting Layla’s leadership and Future Caucus’ work will premiere next week at the Aspen Institute’s Resnick Aspen Action Forum.
You can get a sneak peek at the documentary and learn more about the Prize on the McNulty Foundation website. |
We feel deeply honored by this recognition and more committed than ever to equipping the next generation of leaders to bridge divides and drive solutions. |
