Empowering youth-led accountability and collaboration for gender justice in South Africa
The Generation Gender South African coalition officially launched its 2024 social audit report following an in-depth audit process conducted last year in KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, and the Eastern Cape. The social audit reveals insights on how young people experience and engage with gender justice services and mechanisms in their communities.

Sonke leads a march against GBVF
Sonke, partner organisations and over five hundred supporters recently took to the streets of the Northen Cape to demand increased police presence in vulnerable communities. The march also called for the urgent adoption of a victim-centred approach in all GBVF interventions.

Sonke is delighted to have led a session on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights at the 2025 Connector Week that featured a review of diverse country realities and sought youth-led entry points for influencing policies.

Comprehensive Sexuality Education through research
From the 28th of April to the 2nd of May 2025, youth leaders and researchers from three African countries gathered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for a five-day training on research methodology. Organised by Sonke Gender Justice under the SRHR4All project, the training equipped youth participatory action researchers with tools needed to conduct high-quality, ethical, and impactful research on Comprehensive Sexuality Education within their communities.
