Donald Trump continues to lower the integrity bar. His latest outrage is firing the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York. The whole affair reeks, and, as usual, it's the handiwork of AG William Barr, Trump's trusty sidekick in abuse of power.

Once upon a time, this kind of executive overreach would cause severe consequences. But Republicans with the ability to check the president's mischief show no inclination to hold him accountable; they stand idly by while the president ignores the laws written to restrain him. This chapter could be called 'Spines of Foam.'

That's not right, and it's not patriotic. It's subservience.

I keep fighting to shine a light on the administration's incompetence and wrongdoing, but spotlighting the evil isn't enough. To solve the root problem of this disastrous presidency, we have to get rid of this disastrous president, beat him badly on Election Day and elect Democrats up and down the ballot.

Once again, Democrats will have to clean up the mess and set things right. To achieve this, I'm using Oceans PAC to help Democrats in close races across the country. Special interests are already spending big to elect Republicans, so Democrats will need all the help we can muster. Whenever and wherever we can, it is vital that we support the candidates who will fight corruption, stand for racial justice and take action against climate change and the big polluters who drive it.
