I’m so proud to share that the City of Philadelphia has reached an agreement with DC 47. This is great news, not just for the dedicated professionals from DC 47 who make our City run, but for everyone who powers, shapes, and relies on our city every day.

Coming on the heels of the agreement the City reached with DC 33 last week, we continue to demonstrate how Philadelphia values our city workers and protects our city’s hard-earned fiscal stability at the same time.

Don’t believe what we say, believe what we do Philadelphia.

The new three-year contract, once ratified by DC 47 membership, builds on the one-year extension we reached last fall. These agreements will raise wages by 13.5 percent over my four-year term in office.

Like the contract with DC 33, the DC 47 contract is fair, fiscally responsible, and honors the people who work so hard for Philadelphia.

I want to thank DC 47 leadership for their partnership throughout this process. I also want to thank our negotiating team and the residents of Philadelphia for their support and patience as we worked toward a just outcome.

The agreements with DC 33 and DC 47 show what’s possible when we come together, stay rooted in our shared values, and put people first.

We still have work to do — but today, we took a major step forward.
