An "Express Lane” for Faster Rebuilding

Animated computer screen with building next to text from a pop-up

LA County is partnering with Archistar to launch the new eCheck AI Pilot, a cutting-edge tool that reviews building plans for compliance with zoning rules using artificial intelligence. If your single-family home was impacted by the Eaton Fire or the Palisades Fire and is located in a single-family (R-1) residential zone in the unincorporated Altadena or Sunset Mesa communities, you are invited to join as an Early Adopter.

Here’s how to participate:

  • Sign up for a free account at echeck.lacounty.gov
  • Look up your property address
  • Upload your architectural drawings in PDF format

Choose between Like-for-Like and Non-Like-for-Like rebuild projects. During the pilot, results may take up to 10 business days, but may be delivered faster. When your results are ready, you can review them on the eCheck platform and include the downloadable report in your County Disaster Recovery Permit – Rebuild Project application.

Visit echeck.lacounty.gov to get started.
