This is a grassroots-first campaign, which means we try to be radically transparent and honest with you about our fundraising.

So we wanted to show you the chart below. This chart shows the amount of donations to emails like this one over the last three weeks.

As you can see, after our FEC deadline at the end of June, our fundraising fell off a cliff.

Campaigns have long seen a “Summer Slump” in July and August where donations are way down, and many campaigns go into cruise control.

But with Trump in the White House tearing apart our civil rights and slashing bedrock programs that Americans rely on, we don't have the luxury of taking the summer off.

Ed Markey is committed to organizing against this administration each and every day, whether he’s in the Senate voting against Trump’s nominees and legislation or in the streets of Boston exposing the GOP’s extremist agenda and bringing people into our movement.

But he simply can’t do those things and run a winning campaign without the contributions we raise on emails like this. Especially when you consider the billionaires and Super PACs backing Trump and the Republicans.
