Hi there,
I recently sent a letter to President Trump urging him to work with Congress — Democrats and Republicans — to finally make a bipartisan deal on immigration. I made my case last week on Morning Joe.

Here’s what I wrote, and what I believe:
I want to make a deal. The American people are tired of watching families get torn apart, of seeing masked ICE agents showing up in neighborhoods, and of a system that isn’t making anyone safer. Yes, we should be deporting violent criminals. But what we’re doing now just isn’t effective.
We need a better way.
That’s why I’m calling on the President to come to the table and work with us. He’s talked about the importance of farm workers and hospitality workers—we should expand that to other critical industries. Then, we need a coalition of business, badges, and the Bible working with us to get this done.
We can secure the border, fix our broken asylum system, and treat people like human beings. We can modernize the visa process, create pathways for legal work, and provide a fair process for Dreamers and long-time residents who are part of our communities.
We can – and must – pass bipartisan immigration reform that protects families, strengthens enforcement where it’s needed, and upholds our values as Americans.
This moment requires more than slogans. It requires leadership and common sense. I’m ready to do my part. I hope the President is too.
Thanks for reading, and for staying engaged.
– Tom
